League - Conference B
Tranent 2 - Dundonald 2
After last weeks poor performance at Sauchie Dundonald traveled to Tranent to face a team who are in a good form.
It was Tranent who had the best of the oppening period and took the lead when their player picked the ball up
from a corner and made his way along the edge of the box before firing the ball into the net. Dundonald were in danger of getting over run at this point and it was no surprize when Tranent increased their lead when, after some good play on the right, their striker rounded the Dundonald keeper and although his first effort was cleared off the line by Hendry he kept his cool and chipped the ball in to the net to double his sides lead. Dundonald woke up to the fact that a heavy defeat was on the cards if they did'nt get themselves into this match and were unlucky not to score when Drummonds shot hit the post. The vistors managed to reduced the deficit when McKenzie turned Duries shot into the net. Tranent had the last chance of the half when they hit the bar with a shot from outside the box.
Half Time 2-1
Dundonald had rode their luck in the early stages of this match but had finished the half well and where hoping to build on this. It was the home side who had the first chance of the half when they hit the post and were then denied by Dundonald's keeper, Lennox when he produced a great save to prevent them scoring with the rebound. The visitors then started to gain the upper hand and McKenzie should have equalised when he was played in by Drummond but he put his shot wide. Sabanda had the next chance for Dundonald but he could'nt get the ball out of his feet and chance was lost. Tranent were under pressure at this point and were glad whenWedderburns header rebound of the bar.Dundonald eventually drew level when, after some good possession, Wallace split the Tranent defence with a great pass and McKenzie slotted the ball into the net.
After a slow start Dundonald eventually got themselves into this match and had enough chances in the second half to take all three points but Tranent will feel if they had taken their chances the game would have been over before half time.
