It was back to league business for Dundonald and they knew they faced a hard game against Lothian Thistle a team with a good record in the East of Scotland League. The early part of this game was an even affair with both teams

struggling to create any goal scoring chances. Dundonald first chance came from a corner but O Neil header was well saved. Lothian Thistle had a similer chance at the over end but they put the header wide. With two minutes of the half remaining Thistle were reduced to ten men when their keeper raced out of his goals to try and stop Campbell getting the ball but he took the Dundonald striker out and was shown the red card. O Neil fired the resulting free kick into the corner of the net.

Half Time 1-0

With Lothian a man down and an outfield player in the goals the Dundonald support were looking for their team to push on and score more goals but ten minutes after the restart Thistle drew level when a ball into the Dundonald box was only part cleared and when the Lothian player picked the ball up on the edge of the box he fired it into the net. Things got even worse for Dundonald when a misplaced pass by Forbs gave Lothian another chance and they scored again. Walton was unlucky not to score when he got on end of Smiths pass but his shot went just wide. Dundonald were pressing hard for the equlizer and both Wallace and Sibanda had chances but the, stand in, keeper  saved well. Thistle thought they had scored again when they pounched on a bad back header but Wedderburn managed to cleared the shot the line. The visitor had another good chance but were unlucky to see the ball rebounding off the post. With time running out Dundonald kept up the presure but could not find the net.

Full Time 1-2

Dundonald will be disappointed not to have won this match especially when Lothian went down to ten men but they failed to dominate the midfield and looked uncomfortable when Thistle attacked.
