Crossgates 0 - Dundonald 3
Smith (2), Ness
Dundonald made the short journey to Crossgates to face a team they beat convincingly earlier in the season but they know that they have improved alot since that game. It was the visitors who had the first good chance of the match
but Campbell put his header over the bar. Moments later Dundonald took the lead when Smith headed home from a corner. Crossgate almost got back on level terms but Lawrie's shot, from the edge of the box, went just wide. The Dundonald support thought they had a penalty when McKenzie went down in the box but the ref waved away their claims. The visitors increased their lead when Rogerson's cross found Ness unmarked at the back post and the young midfielder headed the ball into the net. Smith was unlucky not to put Dundonald further ahead but his header hit the bar.
Half Time 0-2
Dundonald knew this game game was not won yet but they got the perfect start to the second half when Smith header found the net. Crossgates refused to let their heads go down and continued to try and take the game to Dundonald but the visitors defence held firm. With the game drawing to a close the visitors were forced to make a change when central defender Colin Wilson had to go off with a dislocated shoulder.
This was a good three points for Dundonald because Crossgates had been playing well recently.
